Thomas, James Allen & George Washington ...submitted by Ed Thomas Enlisted at the age of 17 at Camp Carolina in Neshoba County as private. Fought in 19 battles and suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot in the Battle of Franklin on 1 Dec 1864. Granted a medical furlough, he walked home to Neshoba County, arriving there on Christmas Day. He was married twice: (1)Mittie Brantley and (2) Mary Catherine Henry. He died in
Neshoba County, MS on 8 Oct 1929 at the age of 86.
