Last Will and Testament  of Will Sherrod

 

WILL W. SHERROD is the last known person to live in Neshoba County with the Sherrod surname and relative of Noah Sherrod.

INFORMATION COLLECTED REGARDING NOAH SHERROD AND HIS RELATIVES

  In the Agriculture Census of 1860 there is a John and a Noah
Sherrod.
  John had 40 acres improved land, 280 unimproved land, $1500 cash value of farm, $25 in implements and machinery, 2 horses, 4 milk cows, 5 other cows, 20 swine, $498 value of livestock, 42 bushels wheat, 300 bushels, Indian cord, 4 bales ginned cotton.

  Noah had 300 acres improved land, 500 acres unimproved land, $4000 cash value of farm, $263 in implements and machinery, 3 horses, 4 mules, 16 milk cows, 6 working oxen, 7 other
cattle, 34 sheep, 80 swine, $1495 value of livestock, 100 bushels of wheat, 15 bushels rye, 1500 bushels Indian corn, 32 bales ginned cotton, and 80 lbs. of wool.

  In the Agriculture Census for 1850 Noah had 100 acres improved land, 600 acres unimproved land, $100 value of farm, $10 in machinery, 6 horses, 1 mule, 5 milk cows, 6 other cattle, 20 sheep, 40 swine, 500 value of livestock, 1000 bushels Indian corn.


  I found a Grant Hurce who married Nora Sherrod, marriage license issued on March 2, 1900, and married on March 6, 1900, [filed on May 7, 1900, bond by Vernon Holder]. Then there was Thomas Sherrod and Eliza Burnside, marriage license, issued on January 13, 1903, [bond Thomas Sherrod - did not marry, did not file].


  There was W. R. Sherrod and S. W. Ingram, marriage license issued 13 Sept 1882 bond W. R. Sherrod and W. F. Daly, did not marry and did not file any additional information.

  Anna A. Sherrod and William Eubanks applied for marriage a license on January 16, 1883, and married on January 18, 1883, marriage license filed on March 7, 1883, [bond Wm. Eubanks, and W. R. Sherrod].


  On the 1859 and 1834 tax rolls is Wilson, Noah, and John Sherrod.
  Noah Sherrod, owned land in T12, R12, Sec. 18 in 1856.
  Land records for and to Wilson Sherrod from Noah Sherrod are dated in 1860, from Henry H. Shumaker and wife to Noah Sherrod in 1855.
