Jones, Carriedora, Lucy E., John I., Belinda G., Elvira L., Thomas,
Ora, Irene M., Cephus W. (Josephus W. Jones?).
Martha Malinda Belinda Nash (b. circa 1833 in MS) married Thomas B. Jones (b.
circa 1829 in AL). They lived in the Bond/Spring Creek community of N.E.
Neshoba County. They were neighbors of several of Marytha's siblings.
Martha's eldest brother was my g.g.grandfather, John Jasper Newton Nash
(1829-1912). Their parents were Ira N. and Lucy Nash of the Bond area of
Neshoba County. In addition to John Nash, Martha's other siblings were:
Charles A., Elvira E., Frannie A., Ira M., Ora L., P. Irene, and Stephen
Perry.
Martha and Thomas Jones children were:
1. Carriedora or Carrie Dora, (b. 1856),
2. Lucy E. (b. 1858), named after martha's mother
3. John I. (b. circa 1859)... (John Ira Jones ?)
4. Belinda G. (b. 1861),
5. Elvira L. (b. 1863),
6. Thomas M./ Thomas B. (b. 1864),
7. Ora (b. 1868),
8. Irene M. Jones (b 1872),
9. Cephus (Josephus?) W. Jones , (b. 1879)
Children's birth-years are approximate as they were taken from the 1870 and
1880 censuses.
I believe that John I. Jones had moved to Winston County and was working for
a neighbor of the family of his churches' Pastor, R. Woodruff at the time of
the 1880 census; John Ira Jones is shown living in the household of William
T. Lewis of Winston county on the 1880 Census.
Carriedora, Lucy E., and Elvira L. Jones are also not listed in the Martha
and Thomas Jones household on the 1880. they may have married or else died
between 1870 and 1880.
While I did not find marriage records for the above three daughters prior to
1880, I saw a marriage listing for a Miss C. Jones and M. C. Smyth in 1880,
and a L. E (Lucy E.?) Jones and F. M. Jenkins also in 1880.
I would be very interested in sharing family history info with descendants of
this family.
